The Los Angeles County Surf Life Saving Association is a non-profit organization that exists to promote open water safety among the general public and lifeguards by creating training, education, life saving sports and community outreach opportunities.
The goal of the surf racing team is to generate an enthusiastic group of competitors, all of whom have an equal opportunity to benefit from increased sponsorship, revenue and competition opportunities. Lifeguards and junior guards who give their time and effort to assist the team and help raise funds shall benefit most for their effort. All lifeguards, junior guards and alumni who fulfill the requirements will make the LA County Surf Racing Team.
All team members must at least 4 hours at one of our volunteer events and compete in one or more of the surf lifesaving competitions.
